Throughout the book, the main character, Michael, struggles with his identity and the choices he should make.

I wanted to reflect that confusion onto the cover. To do this I decided to use the cover as a scrapbook of Michael's life. I divided the cover up with a grid and made each rectangle into a snapshot of an important part of Michael's life. 

As the reader makes it farther along in the book they would be able to look back to the cover and make the connections to the stories, similar to Michael going through life and slowly understanding the things going on in his life.
